Accident Investigation Course

Duration: 3 Hours

Scope of Training:
Students will learn how to conduct a proper investigation of a workplace accident. This program stresses proper procedure and conveys an understanding of the basic skills needed by the investigator. This training course teaches students how to analyze facts, identify contributing factors, and discover the root cause of the accident.

Course Objective:
This course will measure mastery on each of the following performance objectives. Upon completion, students will be able to:

Properly and effectively investigate accidents

List immediate steps to take to secure the accident area

Determine steps to include in the initial investigation

Describe good witness interviewing techniques

Acknowledge that the intent of the investigation process is to identify causes of accidents and develop corrective measures to avoid future reoccurrences
