Fall Protection - Competent Person Training

Scope of Training:
This training course reinforces the need for proven safe operating procedures and the necessary equipment to accomplish a safe and efficient operation. The course also covers the new equipment technology and equipment options for different situations that may be encountered on the job. Also covered in This training course are fall rescue plans and equipment needed for safe and efficient rescues. Students will placed in hands-on scenarios including recognizing fall hazards, choosing proper fall protection equipment, and planning tasks at elevation. The need for site specific policies is also covered.

  • Full body harness
• Don Full body harness (each student)
• Understand proper selection of harness and complete fall arrest system
• Calculation of arresting force
• Recognize the different types of rescues. (vertical and horizontal)
• Inspection procedure of all components of the rescue system
• Understand proper selection of rescue equipment
• Use multiple types of rescue systems
